"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Mark Twain. He said, "Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may kick it about all day, like a football, and it will be round and full at evening.”
2. I think we are being faced with things for which we have no answers--the plague of AIDS, the tinderbox in the Middle East, the outbreaks of famine, the irregular weather disturbances, and much more. But we don't have to wring our hands and say, "What is the world coming to?" We can look up and say, "Who is the world coming to? It's coming to Jesus! Praise God!
3. I think I want to thank Mrs. Taterway and her 7th grade Bible class for organizing "The Big Game." Our girls and boys teams played thier best games of the year. The girls defeated Hearts Home School 24-21. It was the first league win this year for them. Our boys came back from 15 points down and showed their hustle. They only lost by two against Frederick Warriors. They had several three pointers in the last 30 seconds that rimmed out.
4. I think through the door prize drawings and the bake sale, $259.00 was raised to support the middle school mission trip to Nicaragua. This year, 2 students will be going during Spring Break. Please pray for the money to come in for Ashleigh Cayton and D.J. Leonhardt. It cost $1500.00 per student. They will be ministering and caring for the children at the orphanage. I believe that they will make a difference on this trip and that this trip will make a difference in them.
5. I think Mrs. Duke is doing an awesome job with the "Book Blizzard." Our library has collected 504 new and "like new" books to give to the students of Rolling Ridge Elementary School. CCS has a goal of 650 books. If this is reached, a snow cone machine will be on our campus on February 17th for all of our students. This project is a good way to continue the relationship with Rolling Ridge and have an outreach to their school community. To clarify, the books will be given to thier students to take home and keep. The hope is that it will help in their reading skills outside of class.
6. I think our 2nd Character First Chapel will be next Wednesday at 9:15am. It will be a combined with K-8th grade in attendance. The focus will be on genrosity, orderliness and forgiveness. Special songs and skits will be a highlight of the program.
7. I think February 13th-17th is our annual School Spirit Week. The theme days are:
Monday-Multiplicity Day (Think Twin Day on a larger scale.)
Tuesday-Wacky Tacky Day (Anything from Crazy Hair to outfits that do not match)
Wednesday-Favorite Team Day (I am wearing my Redskins Jersey)
Thursday-Back to the Future Day (Wear what you want to be when you grow up...also time will be given to go into the next grade for some of the day. For instance a 1st grader will be able to go to second grade and see what it is like! The 8th graders will serve as "Time Machine Drivers" taking them to the classes.
Friday-Blue and Gold Day
8. I think this week will be culminated with our "Catamount Comeback". I am inviting all of our alumni back on this special evening of the 17th. Recognition will be given to our former students of our middle school and high school. This is how it will go:
2:15pm School-wide Pep Rally
4:00pm Middle School Girls Basketball Game Against Leesburg Christian School (HOME)
5:00pm Middle School Boys Basketball Game Against Leesburg Christian School (HOME)
6:30pm Women's Alumni and Faculty Game*
7:30pm-Men's Alumni and Faculty Game*
*Games are subject to the amount of players who show up. Even if you did not play on an official team in school, you can still compete in this.
9. I think I want to thank the parents who have dropped off bottled water for our athletes, coaches and officials. The need is on-going so anytime you can pick some up for us, please do so. This helps provide for the upcoming Catamount games.
10. I think since the Super Bowl is Sunday, I will give you my picks. Two things are not possible this weekend...1) Both teams will lose and 2) The Redskins will not win it. So based on that, I am going with the Patriots 31-17 over the Gaints. The reason behind my pick is because I do not want the Lombardi Trophy won by a team in the Redskins NFC East division.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JANUARY 25, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Lou Holtz. He said, "I won't accept anything less than the best a player's capable of doing, and he has the right to expect the best that I can do for him and the team.
2. I think Matthew 20:26 says, "But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister." In Jesus' day, the pagan Gentile princes had many servants--this was a mark of their greatness. To be great in God's eyes, on the other hand, we are to be servants. Do you want to be great? Then minister to others. There are some people who are great because they have servants. That is the pagan way. Jesus said that the measure of a Christian's greatness is not the number of his servants but by how many men he serves. Now, don't miss this point. Jesus did not say for us not to be great. He said, "Be great, but just be certain that your greatness is measured in God's economy." That is sanctified ambition.
3. I think the "Book Blizzard" is going on right now. Up to this point, we have collected 173 books for the students at Rolling Ridge Elementary. The purpose behind this is to provide books for the kids to take home to their personal libraries. On this end, Mrs. Duke is doing a wonderful job coordinating this and promoting it. She even has a snow cone machine coming if our student reach the goal of 650 books. Your child should be bringing home information on this.
4. I think the 7th grade class is putting together a special emphasis for the basketball games on January 30th. The times are 4:00pm and 5:00pm. They are calling it "The Big Game"! There will be free homework passes given to the students who are in attendance, Catamount door prizes, halftime competitions, and a cheer off between our middle school teachers. I hope you will show your support and join us.
5. I think the results are in for our Student Council. I would like to congratulate the following...
President-Rebecca Suk
Vice President-Rachel Hollatz
Chaplain-Dani Joy Leonhardt
Treasurer-Karston Steele
Secretary-Katherine Sweeney
6. I think the athletic department is looking for families to donate some bottled water for our athletes. This will be used for our home and away games for our players, coaches and referees. You may drop it off at my office or the school's front desk. I thank you in advance for your meeting this need for the Catamounts.
7. I think February 13th-17th is our annual School Spirit Week. The theme days are
Monday-Multiplicity Day (Think Twin Day on a larger scale.)
9. I think I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for post-season week 3....
Game of the Week-San Francisco 49'ers against the New York Giants
Team of the Week-New York Giants
Player of the Week-Eli Manning
Coach of the Week-Tom Coughlin
10. I think the Redskins Practice Bubble finally went up this past weekend. One of my students remarked as he was riding by it, "it is a little late for that." Since my team is done playing for severaL months I think it would be great for Dan Snyder to let the Catamount flag football team break it in! Coach Ben Sizemore would love that I am sure.
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Lou Holtz. He said, "I won't accept anything less than the best a player's capable of doing, and he has the right to expect the best that I can do for him and the team.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JANUARY 18, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Chris Evert. She said, "If you can react the same way to winning and losing, that's a big accomplishment. That quality is important because it stays with you the rest of your life, and there's going to be a life after tennis that's a lot longer than your tennis life."
2. I think I would have loved to have seen Jesus walk on the water--planting His footsteps on the sea with the wind in His hair and His garments flowing. I would be a better preacher had I seen Him dying in agony and blood, and to have experienced that Easter morning. Wouldn't it have been wonderful to see Him ascend into the glory! I didn't see Him any of those times, but I'm going to see Him. And you're going to see Him! There's a blessed hope awaiting us as God's children. When He returns, He's not coming as the carpenter, He's coming as the conqueror!
Thank God for this Good News right now and ask Him to bring you someone today with whom you can share this particularly Good News of Christ's return!
3. I think we are blessed to have a developing relationship with Rolling Ridge Elementary School in Sterling. Right now we are in the midst of a "book blizzard" for them. We are asking our families to donate a new or like-new book (reading level K-5th grade)that will be given to the Rolling Ridge students so they have some books to read at home. This is another tangible way for us to minister school to school. Please have the books in to our library by February 15th.
4. I think the athletic department is in need of cases of bottled water. This will be used for our athletes for home and away games. If you would like to help with this, please drop the water off by my office. One of the reasons I love our school is that when a need like this is presented, our parents make it happen and fill it. I remember a few years ago, when I needed a refrigerator and I made our parents aware. Within 2 days, one was sitting in the gym office being used. I appreciate your willingness to work with me!
5. I think I am looking to hire an experienced field linesman. Mr. Charles Tull has done this for me the past several years and with his recent move to WARM Florida, it has left a huge gap. I need this position filled soon as we have upcoming spring flag football and soccer. Please get in touch with me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
6. I think this past weekend I was watching Tim Tebow and his Broncos play. While I was sad the Mrs. Wurtzel's team got eliminated, I was glad when I saw the Focus on the Family commercial. What a great time to show the message of God's love. To see the John 3:16 advertisement, please go to www.thepangleangle.blogspot.com.
7. I think Catamount Comeback is February 17. Please mark your calendars. Here is the schedule for this fun-filled night. Please help spread the word.
2:15pm School-wide Pep Rally
4:00pm Middle School Girls Basketball Game Against Leesburg Christian School (HOME)
5:00pm Middle School Boys Basketball Game Against Leesburg Christian School (HOME)

7:30pm-Men's Alumni and Faculty Game*
*Games are subject to the amount of players who show up. Even if you did not play on an official team in school, you can still compete in this.
8. I think this week is the student council elections. The positions that are up for voting are president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, and chaplain. The students have made posters and are delivering speeches. This is a great way to have the students involved in our school and being a national election year, a way for our history department to instruct and inspire our students about the United States government. A special thank you to Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Taterway on organizing this. I look forward to working with the representatives.
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for post-season week 2....
Game of the Week-San Francisco 49'ers against the New Orleans Saints
Team of the Week-New York Giants
Player of the Week-Tom Brady
Coach of the Week-Tom Coughlin
10. I think I am missing watching the Redskins on Sundays. Hard to believe that the team we beat twice in our division is one game away from the Super Bowl. The talk around D.C. is all about the quarterback. A lot of headlines have been given to Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and even Peyton Manning. I am not sure who will take the snaps for us next year but one guy that I am extremely impressed by is Kirk Cousins out of Michigan State. We may be able to get him in the later rounds.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JANUARY 4, 2012
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Pat Riley. He said, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but simply moving on with dignity despite that fear.”
2. I think when I was growing up, my dad made sure that I always had a basketball goal to shoot on. He taught me early on to take aim what you are shooting for. Have you ever written some God-given goals to keep you on target and task? Most people I know don't plan to fail. They simply fail to plan. How can you tell whether or not your goal is a God-given goal? First, have you prayed over it and asked for God's blessing? Second, does it create in you enough spiritual enthusiasm and excitement to see it fulfilled? Third, does it demand the very best in you? Fourth, does it touch every area of your life? There is no area of your life that is out of bounds from God. My prayer for our students is that they will Know God and make Him known.
3. I think next week is an important time in the life of our students. It will be our 4th annual Spiritual Emphasis Week. Illusionist Wes Holly will return and lead the elementary time (9:15am) and AXIS ministry will lead our middle school time (10:05). The special chapels will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope you will join me in prayer for God to work on our campus.
4. I think AXIS ministry consists of college age young people who travel and creatively educate students by questioning assumptions, interpreting media, and equipping schools to move from apathy to compassionate action. This will go hand in hand with our Bible curriculum and our Biblical Worldview. Parents are invited to attend each session. Summit Ministries John Stonestreet recommends this group highly.
5. I think in hosting this ministry there is a huge need I have. I have sent out emails and posts and yet still have not found a host home for them. I need a family to take them in for four nights while they are here. They will stay together. They have their own transportation. They will be arriving Sunday night. This is their preference and it will help the school with expenses. If you are interested and want more details please contact me as soon as possible through the school office (703) 729-5968 or email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org. I thank you ahead of time.
6. I think we have two away basketball games this week. We play tomorrow against Manassas Christian School. Girls and Boys both play with the games starting at 4:00pm. The Bus will leave at 2:30pm. Then on Friday, we play Leesburg Christian School. Both teams will play with the games starting at 4:00pm. The bus will leave at 2:45pm. This is their homecoming and it is a nearby school on Evergreen Mill Road. I hope you will come and cheer for the, It will be great to see Blue and Gold in the stands. Go Catamounts!
7. I think Upward basketball starts this Thursday evening. We have over 315 registered and 30 teams. God is blessing this program. We are at capacity with a waiting list. I am excited that through the game of basketball, we can teach them the Bible! We are in need of prayer partners for this league. If you have a passion of prayer and would like to help us, please email me. You will get weekly updated prayer request for the coming practices and games. You may not shoot a 3 pointer but you can pray to the Triune God.
8. I think the New Year is here and I am hearing a lot about different exercise programs. As I reviewed them, I was able to find some I need to avoid in 2012. Here is the list...
*Wading through paperwork
*Running around in circles
*Pushing my luck
*Spinning my wheels
*Beating my head against the wall
*Dragging my heels
*Jumping to conclusions
*Grasping at straws
*Fishing for compliments
*Throwing my weight around
*Passing the buck
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 17....
Game of the Week-Tennessee Titans versus Houston Texans
Team of the Week-Miami Dolphins
Player of the Week-Victor Cruz
Coach of the Week-Bill Belichick
10. I think all of you know by now that the Redskins season is over. Therefore, I have no prediction to close out this blog. However, I do have a good story. This past weekend, as I was watching the game against the Eagles, I received a text message from Devin Greenhow. He is a seventh grader here at CCS and a big fan of the green and white. He in a few words made sure I knew his team was winning. I look forward to the days of RG3 when I can text him back in a game! On the serious side, one of the joys of teaching the relationship with the ones you lead on a daily basis.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-DECEMBER 14, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Dan Frisby. He said, "Basketball is like photography, if you don't focus, all you have is the negative."
2. I think this morning in the elementary chapel, I was reminded of the line from Silent Night that says "Christ the Savior is born." The question came to my mind, "But what if Chris had never been born? The answer is at least three-fold. If Christ had never been born then our Bible is unbelievable, our Gospel is unpreachable and our World is unredeemable.
3. I think a close friend of mine, Charles Tull, and his family are moving to Florida today. I stopped by for a moment ant told them by today. He has been a faithful friend and helper to me and the Catamounts! A few years ago, I even pulled him out of retirement to coach girls basketball. He will be missed but excited to hear what God does next in his life!
4. I think I have the privilege to serve on staff with Dustin Holliday. He spoke at our church leadership round table this week with some challenging and convicting words. I admire his and his wife's boldness in the facing life storms. I urge you to read his blog at http://www.cfcoutreach.blogspot.com. It will be a blessing to you.
5. I think one of my athletes told me of how she has been noticing that the other teams that play us have been having more fans at the games than us. After she said that, I had to admit that it was true. This coming Monday we have a home game for the girls at 4:30pm. Let's surprise her and have the bleachers packed. Even if you do not have a child playing, come out and support the Catamounts! Let's make our gym an encouraging and enthusiastic place to play!
6. I think due to the Christmas program for the school tomorrow night, there is a different basketball practice schedule. Please take note of the following...
3:30-4:30PM ELEMENTARY CHEER LEADING PRACTICE (ROOM 129)
3:30-4:30PM MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL PRACTICE
3:30-4:30PM MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL STUDY HALL
4:30--5:30PM MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL PRACTICE
7. I think we have over 300 registered for the upcoming Upward basketball season. I praise the Lord for this and hope that we see many of them come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord! The gym will be packed with young people learning about Him through the game of basketball. May we continue to do "whatever it takes" to reach and teach the next generation for His glory.
8. I think I want to spread the word that Kaitlyn Maher will be at the church I grew up in this Sunday. She will be singing several songs at the Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church. The service starts at 10:00AM so please be praying. I am Looking forward to her singing about the goodness and grace of God! She has been busy lately as she just returned from filming another movie for Disney.
9. I think I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 14...
Game of the Week-Arizona Cardinals versus the San Francisco 49'ers
Team of the Week-Green Bay Packers
Player of the Week-Tim Tebow
Coach of the Week-Tom Coughlin
10. I think my Redskins are playing better as of late. I look for us to upset the New York Giants and NFC East race. The score will be 28-17. By the way RG3 would look good in the burgundy and gold next year even with his special Superman socks!

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-DECEMBER 7, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Joe Gibbs. He said, "The will to win is meaningless without the will to prepare."
2. I think today marks the 70th anniversary of a date that has indeed lived in infamy: December 7, 1941 — the date on which the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and thrust America into World War II. The next afternoon, before a joint session of Congress, President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, to thunderous applause, “No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people, in their righteous might, will win through to absolute victory.” He then, in accordance with our Constitution, asked Congress for a declaration of war. That same afternoon, he received and signed that declaration. What a difference a day makes in the history of a people and a nation. We may not know what today holds but we do know the God that holds today!
3. I think our Catamount Basketball schedule is posted at www.ccsathletics.org. Our girls and boys teams are improving each game and providing exciting games. I want to ask our families to make as many games as possible this season. There is no cost for you to come and we need all the fans we can get. Next week, we have Hearts Home School (Monday) and Fairfax Home School (Tuesday) coming to us. Both of them will bring a good number of fans and I do not want us to be outnumbered in Catamount Country! So be early. Be enthusiastic. Be encouraging.
4. I think our elementary cheer squad did an awesome job last night. This year, they will be cheering for the middle school girls' games. I look forward to hearing them in action.
5. I think this week, I was given the official word from the NVIAC that we won the middle school girls cross country championship. This is the first time in school history that we have done this. I am so proud to our runners and look forward to the development of this sport for our school.
6. I think as i write this the Angel Shop is going on. Seeing our middle school helping and serving this worthwhile cause is touching to me. If you have been around our school this year and seen this group of young people, one thing that you have seen is how glad they are to help out with projects. Already this year, we have collected, sorted, packaged and delivered 104 food bags for rolling Ridge Elementary and 100 Christmas gift stockings for Christian Fellowship Church. We are motivated to make a definite difference in our community. There is more to come and based upon the character of our students and God's provision, they will make it happen!
7. I think if you want some good ideas for Christmas, I have some available $10.00gift cards for you to use at our school spirit store. They are available in my office and if you let me know, I will do what I can to get them to you. I love seeing the blue and gold.
8. I think our 3rd annual Spiritual Emphasis week will be January 9th-11th. Our elementary will have special speaker and entertainer Wes Holly again. Our middle school will have Axis Ministry out of Colorado. This will be a group of 3-5 college age kids that will present message on a Christian Worldview. They have asked us to provide housing for them on those days and they would all like to stay together. If you have room and would like to take on this responsibility, please contact me as soon as possible. Please pray for this life-changing week for our students.
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 13...
Game of the Week-Green bay Packers versus the New York Giants
Team of the Week-Denver Broncos
Player of the Week-Ray Rice
Coach of the Week-Mike McCarthy
10. I think the Redskins are 4-8. To make my preseason prediction of 8-8, they have to win their last four games. They will have to do this without suspended Trent Williams and Fred Davis. Being the blind optimist I am. I want them to win over the Patriots 28-24!

I WILL SAY THE WORD "CHRISTMAS" WITHOUT APOLOGY
Christmas is spelled L-O-V-E. What is the Christmas message? John 3:16. God gave us the gift of love on Christmas Day. It is truly said, “What the world needs now is love.” I need it. You need it. Your spouse needs it. Your child needs it. An elderly man or woman sitting alone in a nursing home today needs it. A child abandoned and alone in a children’s home needs it, too. God sent His one and only Son as the Savior. He knew we couldn’t save ourselves. So He sent His Son to be born in a manger, to die on a cross, to rise again into glory, and to come again to redeem His church. Through the Backpack Buddies program for Rolling Ridge Elementary this fall and now the Christmas Stockings for local children, we are trying to show and share this love outside our school walls. Thank you for partnering with us for this purpose!

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-NOVEMBER 30, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from Bobby Bowden. He said, "Don't go to the grave with life unused."
2. I think now that volleyball season is over, it is time for me to collect the uniforms. Please wash them, place in a zip lock baggy and bring to my office. Please do this by Friday so we can close out our fall season.
3. I think if you have taken any sport pictures this year and would like to share them with the athletic department, please email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org. The pictures will help with our bulletin boards, our website and our yearbook.
4. I think our basketball season started this past Tuesday against Trinity Meadowview. Our boys lost but played a good fourth quarter to finish strong. Devin Greenhow made an incredible 5 3point shots. The girls shut TMV down with an impressive win. Their defense did not allow a point in the second half. D.J. Leonhardt led all scorers with 14 points. The boys will be back in action Thursday night at 5:00 against Frederick Home School. The game will be played in the Catamount Gym. For schedule and updates, please go to www.ccsathletics.org.
5. I think it was a rather long Thanksgiving break for my family. My dad went into the hospital on Thanksgiving and was not released until this past Monday. Thankfully, he has had two good back to back days. I am so deeply touched by your questions and comments of concern. It is truly a blessing when parents, students and faculty let me know they are praying for him. Please keep it up and do not stop. God answers prayer!
6. I think I want to remind everyone that the Christmas stockings are due back this Friday, December 2. Please contact your child's homeroom teacher as to what toys and supplies are needed. We had a high goal of 100 completed stockings. To accomplish this, we need all to participate. What a great time of year to concentrate on giving rather than receiving. This project is in cooperation with CFC's emphasis of "Gifts That Give Hope."
7. I think tomorrow morning, I will be meeting with the 8th grade Bible class to see who is thinking about going on the annual middle school mission trip. We were challenged in chapel this week by Dr. Daphne Thomas about using our gifts and talents for the Lord. On this trip, there will be plenty of opportunities to do this. Team members will spend spring break at the Verbo Orphanage in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. CFC and its members provide on-going support for this orphanage. Team members will spend time with the orphans engaging in various activities including Bible studies, crafts, games, sports, and field trips to the river. Team members will also support the Verbo Church with various outreach ministries and projects at the orphanage. This trip is great for families (children 7 years and up). Information packets are available for download here http://cfellowshipc.org/pages/page.asp?page_id=19720
8. I think I want to encourage you to go to the Leesburg/Ashburn Today website and vote for our school, our teachers and our coaches in the 2011 Best of Loudoun Ballot. If interested go to www.leesburgtoday.com. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click the appropriate icon. One vote is allowed per computer. This will help our school with community recognition.
9.I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 12...
Game of the Week-New England Patriots Versus Philadelphia Eagles
Team of the Week-Oakland Raiders
Player of the Week-Drew Brees
Coach of the Week-John Fox
10. I think the Redskins made me happy by getting a win over the Seahawks. I am wanting them to continue their victory streak over the Jets. They will beat Rex Ryan's team 17-13.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-NOVEMBER 16, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Earl Warren. He said, "I always turn to the sports section first. The sports page records people's accomplishments; the front page has nothing but man's failures."
2. I think a special thank you goes out to Head Coach Sandra Cravens and her middle school girls volleyball team. They capped off their fall season with the exciting "Dig for Nicaragua." Through the tickets at the door, the silent auction and the bake sale, the team raised over $700.00. More money is still coming in! This money will go to supporting the mission trip. The girls also beat the middle school boys 2 games to 0 and the faculty 2 games to 0. Go Catamounts.
3. I think I enjoyed the Character First Chapel today. I know it is a change from the traditional honor roll chapels, but I believe God is going to use the new format to increase our Christ-like conduct and conversation. For a good background on the Character First educational program please go to www.thepangleangle.blogspot. There is an awesome video a fence and an ambulance that teaches a powerful lesson.
4. I think outside of room 700, there is a collage of pictures that show our students of the month. They are listed by the character trait and a little story on why they were nominated from their teacher. It is worth a minute of your time to look at it. We will be updating the board every month.
5. I think I want to call all my prayer warriors together for the purpose of praying for the new Upward Basketball season. We are in the midst of registrations and evaluations right now. At this time, we have over 250 enrolled. Please intercede over them as we minister to them through sports!
6. I think our winter sports season is underway with middle school girls and boys basketball and elementary cheer leading. The cheer leaders will have their first practice Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm. Coach Cravens will pick them up at carpool and practice in room 129. The parents will be able to pick the girls up in the gym after the practice. It will be good for us to have a squad of spirit cheering for the Catamounts.
7. I think as a I write this the Advanced P.E. club is meeting. We have been blessed by 1757 Golf, Reggie Evans (former Redskin), and Charlie Leonhardt (his claim to fame is he is D.J's brother) as instructors this quarter. They have concentrated on golf, football and soccer. This is another opportunity from the athletic department to coach our athletes with proper training and techniques. Mrs. Long oversees this for us.
8. I think I am looking forward to our school-wide thanksgiving feast. It will be a good way to continue building lasting relationship with our students and parents. We have had good group interaction this November with the Veterans Day Chapel, the "Dig For Nicaragua" Volleyball game, Fudruckers Spirit Night and the Character First Chapel. May our school community be one of peace, patience, productivity and partnership.
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 10...
Game of the Week-New Orleans Saints Versus Atlanta Falcons
Team of the Week-Dallas Cowboys
Player of the Week-Devin Hester
Coach of the Week-Pete Carroll
10. I think the Redskins will end their five game losing streak against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday. I wish that my man Brandon banks could find time in the offense soon! The score will be 27-24.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-NOVEMBER 9, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from Vince Lombardi. He said, "The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.”
2. I think our first "blue and gold" day of the year will be held this Friday. Please wear our colors and show your school pride.
3. I think our annual "Dig for Nicaragua" volleyball event is this Friday night, November 11. We are in need of donated items for the silent auction and homemade baked goods for the bake sale. Volunteers are needed to assist and the hours can go to fulfill your service time. The middle school boys will play against the middle school girls at 5:00pm. The faculty will play the middle school girls at 6:00pm. Free homework passes will be given out for all students that come.
4. I think the boys and the faculty will wear their black mission shirts for the games. If you do not have one, please see me. They also will be on sale at the game.
5. I think a huge applause is given to Mrs. King and her students for putting on the Veterans Day Chapel. The lines and the songs spoke to my heart. It was a tremendous reminder that a nation that has freedom has the responsibility of protecting and preserving it. What courage our military demonstrates each and every day.
6. I think I was blessed last week when a child approached me and said, "I can't believe you pray for me by name." He was referring to the post cards we send to our students each week after we pray for them in our staff meetings. I believe that God honors prayer and prayer honors God.
7. I think we wil have a brief information meeting regarding cheer leading. Hopefully we will have enough girls this year to have an elementary squad and a middle school squad. This will take place in room 705 right outside my office. Cheer leading is open for 1st-8th grade. The coaches will be present at the meeting to answer any questions you may have.
8. I think Upward Soccer concluded it's season Saturday with the Award Celebration. Steve Brogan presented the gospel in a clear and simple way. We had 8 respond to Christ and accept Him as Lord and Savior. It is wonderful how God uses sports to get their attention and how He uses His sacrifice to get their atonement.
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 9...
Game of the Week-Baltimore Ravens versus the Pittsburgh Steelers
Team of the Week-Miami Dolphins
Player of the Week-Tim Tebow
Coach of the Week-Lovie Smith
10. I think the Redskins are going to have to go 5-3 in the second half of the season to make my winning prediction come true. I thought they would finish 8-8. However, the games get tougher as the year goes along. I am picking the Redskins to win 24-21 Sunday. We need to beat the Dolphins this week so we can build momentum against the Cowboys.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-NOVEMBER 3, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from Dan Reeves. He said, "Difficulties in life are intended to make us better, not bitter."
2. I think our middle school volleyball team showed their spirit and sportsmanship in every game they played this year. Their season has one more special event left. It is the "Dig for Nicaragua" night. The girls will play the middle school boys (5pm) and the faculty from the school (6pm). There will also be concessions and a silent auction. All the proceeds will benefit sending our students on the mission trip during spring break. This will happen next Friday night, November 11th. If you would like to volunteer to help or have an donated item for the auction, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
3. I think every student attending this night will receive a free homework pass! Also on that day, we will have a school-wide Blue and Gold Day!
4. I think to help decorate for this, we will have each class make a banner for the gym. They will be mission minded messages. The team then will hang them in the gym. We will be delivering the papers to the classes on Wednesday.
5. I think our fall service project is the Snack Packs for Rolling Ridge Elementary School. Our goal was to be able to fill 100 bags. At this time, I am 20 short. Each homeroom class has a list of the suggested items. If you have not given to this worthwhile cause, I am asking you to consider doing so. I would like this to be done by next Friday.
6. I think our Cross Country team competed in the NVIAC meet this past Friday. We had six runners and all of them finished the 3 mile race in under 30 minutes. A special congratulations to D.J. Leonhardt for finishing third in the middle school girls division. Our girls also finished wit the the best team time for the race!
7. I think the gym was full of activity today. We had the beginning practices of middle school girls and boys basketball and our outreach to the community, Upward basketball evaluations. Looking forward to see what God does this year with all of this.
8. I think one of the 8th grade school tradition each year is to paint the "Spirit" Rock. God gave them beautiful weather today to do this. A special thanks to Mrs. Mumford and Mrs. Skinner for making this happen. The rock is located near the playground. Please take a look at it and see the creativity of our students. Also notice that it is painted Blue and Gold!
9. I think 9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week 8...
Game of the Week-San Diego Chargers versus the Kansas City Chiefs
Team of the Week-St. Louis Rams
Player of the Week-Ben Rothlisberger
Coach of the Week-Andy Reid
10. I think my Redskins need a big win at home this week. If you have read my "Angle" before you know that I never, never pick against my team. I have them winning 19 to 14 over the 49'ers.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-OCTOBER 19, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Jack Nicklaus. He said, "There is no room in your mind for negative thoughts. The busier you keep yourself with the particulars of shot assessment and execution, the less chance your mind has to dwell on the emotional. This is sheer intensity."
2. I think that this week our faculty will go through the "Do the Right Thing" training. This will explore the ethical and moral breakdown that is assaulting culture from all sides. It will encourage us to examine ourselves and how character issues relate to our lives at home and school. My prayer is that God will instruct us and inspire us to be influencers for integrity.
3. I think a great way for our students to show school pride is by wearing Catamount Clothing. There is a wide variety of t-shirts, hoodies, jackets at the school sports store. Please go to www.ccsathletics.org to view and order. This is a good source for our blue and gold days.
4. I think for our fall offering we are receiving food for the students at Rolling Ridge. This food will go home in their back packs for their weekends. This is a good way for us to minister school to school. Our goal is to fill 100 bags. This week we brought in 20. The homeroom teachers have the list of recommended food.
5. I think next week is a big week for us in the athletic program. We are hosting the NVIAC middle school volleyball tournament. We will have the semifinals on Tuesday and the championship and consolation games on Thursday. The games will be at 4:00 and 5:00pm each day. I need help in helping setup and tear down. I need greeters as well. If you would like to help please email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
6. I think our middle school girls volleyball team will be in action on Monday during the first round of the tournament. I will know on Friday the location and the time.
7. I think we will have the second annual "Dig for Nicaragua" event on November 11. This will be a way for us to support our middle school mission trip in the spring. We need donated items or services for the silent auction. The fol owing game schedule will happen on this night...
5:00pm Middle School Girls Volleyball Team Against the Middle School Boys (6th-8th).
6:00pm Middle School Girls Volleyball Team Against the Faculty.
8. I think our middle school cross country team will be practicing next Wednesday from 2 to 3pm. The NVIAC league meet will then be on October 28th at Burke Lake Park. The bus will leave at 2:00pm. The roster is due on Monday so if your child is interested, please notify me. This is open for boys and girls in 6th-8th grade.
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week six...
Game of the Week-New York Giants versus Buffalo Bills
Team of the Week-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Player of the Week-LeSean McCoy
Coach of the Week-Hue Jackson
10. I think I agree with the decision to start John Beck this week. The Redskins will win 28-10 over the Panthers. By the way, it sure was hard to face the biggest Eagle fan I know...Devin Greenhow. I hope we can win the next game against them.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-OCTOBER 12, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from George Allen Sr. He said, "Each of us has been put on earth with the ability to do something well. We cheat ourselves and the world if we don't use that ability as best we can."
2. I think our middle school volleyball girls have had some close games this fall. As they seek their first win, I hope you will come out and support them. The schedule is available at www.ccsathletics.org. Please remember that a successful season is not measured through the win column but the character development that occurs! I love how God uses athletics as a platform of our testimony and relationship to Him.
3. I think I want to provide our teachers and our students with educational and Biblical resources for their personal growth. With that in mind, i have placed copies of the booklet "Bullying in Schools-What You Need to Know" in every middle school homeroom class and our library. This is to be pro-active in informing our students to make right choices in their treatment of others and what to do if they are mistreated. I am thankful for the healthy atmosphere that exists on our campus and may we remain diligent for it to stay that way.
4. I think Upward Basketball registration is going on right now. You may register at the school, the church or online. This is an opportunity for your child to play in a Christian-based league. It is also a special way to invite unsaved children to play and hear the wonderful message of God's love.
5. I think I want to encourage you to follow County Christian School on Facebook. Mrs. Inabinett is doing an excellent job in putting information, updates and pictures on there that really captures the student life of our school. Please help us reach our goal of 200 followers. This is one way we can have good communication with our growing community.
6. I think if your are looking for a place to worship this Sunday, I want to invite you to come hear the exciting message and news about what God is doing in Nicaragua. Dustin Holliday is back in the United States and will be giving a report in both services. For more information, please go to www.cfellowshipc.org.
7. I think that the Washington D.C. sports scene for the moment is looking good. the Nats finished third in the National League East, The Caps are undefeated, and the Redskins are in first place over their division rivals. I hope it continues. Please don't ask about the Wizards.
8. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week five...
Game of the Week-Oakland Raiders Versus the Houston Texans
Team of the Week-Detroit Lions
Player of the Week-Sebastian Janikowski
Coach of the Week-Jim Schwartz
9. I think Edge (CFC's youth group) is sponsoring an outreach event tonight at Briar Woods High School. It is from 7:00 to 8:30pm. This is their annual Redskins' night and they have invited captains Lorenzo Alexander and London Fletcher to challenge the students. Other Redskins' players will be there as well. There is no cost to attend the event. They will have great door prizes for those that come. It is open for middle and high school students.
10. I think it was great to see the Bills beat the Eagles and the Seahawks beat the Giants. The Redskins were off this past Sunday, so they did not lose! I am looking for them to beat the Eagles 33-31 this weekend. If we win, we go to 4-1.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-OCTOBER 5, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from Jim Valvano. He said, "Cancer can take away all my physical abilities. it cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart and it cannot touch my soul. These three things are going to carry on forever." Please pray for those who are recovering or dealing with this horrible disease. Any time you get a chance put some pink on this awareness month. The Redskins wore pink and won on Sunday!
2. I think the cross country coach is in place and waiting for runners. Her name is Christine Akagi and she will be training our middle school boys/girls team. There is a sign-up on my office door if you would like to participate. We want to enter runners for the league meet October 28 at Burke Lake Park. There is no cost to join. Details on practice will be announced at a later time.
3. I think last year was the first year we did the "Dig for Nicaragua" event. To help put this on, various individuals donated items for our silent auction. If you have something to contribute or would like to be involved in making this happen again, please get in touch with me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org. This goes to support our middle school mission trip.
4. I think I still need a middle school girls basketball coach, a middle school boys' health teacher and an elementary cheer leading coach. Someone asked me if "I was worried about these positions?" I replied, "No, I am not. It is God's program. He knows already who is going to do these things." I trust Him on this and if he is speaking to you, step up.
5. I think Upward Basketball registration for grades 1st-6th starts Sunday. The cost is $85.00 per child. I am praying for 300 kids this year. Registration forms are located at the school office or you may register online at www.countychristianschool.org.
6. I think I am currently reading Alan Hirsch's book The Forgotten Ways. It is a call for a complete reorientation of the mission of the church. The information contained in the book will give you a good sense as to where the heart of Christian Fellowship Church is and where God is leading us as believing people.
7. I think the Character First emphasis this month is obedience. The working definition we will be using is that "obedience is quickly and cheerfully carrying out the direction of those who are responsible for me." Please look for ways to praise our students when you see this in their life at school or home.
8. I think I am excited to announce that along with CFC, our school will be partnering with Rolling Ridge Elementary School for their "backpack buddies" program. This is cool as it lets us minister school to school. A flier will be sent home with each student as to what items we need. This will serve as our fall offering from the school student body.
9. I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week four...
Game of the Week-Dallas Cowboys Versus the Detroit Lions
Team of the Week-Green Bay Packers
Player of the Week-Matt Forte
Coach of the Week-Gary Kubiak
10. I think can 100% guarantee the Washington Redskins will not lose this weekend and that on Monday their record will be 3-1. If I am wrong I will buy you Starbucks. Just a hint...they have a bye this weekend.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-SEPTEMBER 28, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Lou Holtz. He said, “A lifetime contract for a coach means if you're ahead in the third quarter and moving the ball, they can't fire you.”
2. I think we had a moving and motivating time of prayer in our chapels today. We participated in "See You At The Pole." It was awesome to see our students in "circles of communication" as they prayed for their school. What power can come to a community when there is unity about seeking God. For more information about this event, you may go to www.syatp.org.
3. I think there are several middle school cross country meets this fall that our school has opportunity to take part in. There is a sign up for the boys and girls team on my door. I would like to have knowledge by Friday who plans to participate. There is no athletic fee for this as there will be limited involvement.
4. I think the athletic department is looking to hire the following: middle school boys health teacher, middle school girls basketball coach and elementary cheer leading coach. If you or someone you know is interested, please email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
5. I think I would ask prayer for Mrs. Skinner. Sadly, she broke her ankle on the middle school retreat and is having surgery this afternoon. I hope our faculty and families can minister to her during this time. She is one of those special teachers that gives to everyone. Now it is time for us to give to her.
6. I think in spite of the news I just shared with you about the retreat, good things did happen. The students had a fun time with Bible skits, paintball, obstacle course, Frisbee golf, flashlight tag and Catamount Clue. There was no Liberty versus Messiah horseshoes however. By the way, Ivan Chiew tried to knock some sense into me as he pelted me in the head with a great shot. I cannot wait for next year and to make sure I am on his team. He did color my grey hair purple.
7. I think for scores and schedules of our Catamount athletic events, please go to www.ccsathletics.org. Directions to the game locations are also available.
8.I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week three...
Game of the Week-Stone Bridge High School versus Broad Run High School
Team of the Week-Buffalo Bills
Player of the Week-Torrey Smith
Coach of the Week-Chan Gailey
9. I think I am slowly recovering from the Monday Misery. I still cannot believe we handed the Cowboys the win. How do we let them convert a 3rd and 21 with the game on the line? How does Grossman not throw the ball out of bounds? How do we let going 3-0 slip away?
10. I think the Redskins bounce back and get a win over the Rams this Sunday! My score prediction is 28-10.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-SPETEMBER 21, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from "Pistol" Pete Maravich. He said, “There is nothing wrong with dedication and goals, but if you focus on yourself, all the lights fade away and you become a fleeting moment in life.”
2. I think it was a joy to have the Erickson family in our elementary and middle school chapels today. God is using them in a special way in the country of Guatemala. By installing stoves and water filters, doing Bible kid's clubs and ministering to families they are serving as missionaries. Please continue to lift them up in your prayers. We will be partnering with them in the spring on a project.
3. I think for the month of October and November we will be supplying snacks for some students in Rolling Ridge Elementary School. This will be part of their Backpack Buddies program. You will hear more about this the first chapel in October.
4. I think I enjoyed my time with the fifth grade last week. We went out for pizza and did some team building at the area "Pump It Up." A special thank you to Pastor Cravens, Mr. Quinterro, Mrs. Russo and Mrs. Fladager for helping in this. The fifth grade is a very important grade as decisions are made to keep them in our middle school. My prayer is that they will stay with us and we can send them out as our eighth grade graduates. This class will be active in helping with service projects on the school and church campus throughout the year.
5. I think the school is looking to hire a middle school boys' health teacher and a middle school girls basketball coach. If you are interested or know of someone please contact me as soon as possible.
6. I think Upward Basketball registration will open in October. This Christ centered league will be for first-sixth graders. The cost is $85.00 per child. Brochures will be located at the school and church offices. You can also register online through www.ccsathletics.org.
7. I think for our middle school advanced P.E. club today we had 1757 Golf come over to us. Introduction to the game and basic instruction was given to the students.
8. I think I would ask your prayers for our seventh and eighth graders specifically for Thursday and Friday. We will be going to the Concord Retreat Center. This is our annual activity for them to get away from everything routine in their life and to let God speak to them. We will be doing many fun games but most important we will have a time of challenge. This year's theme comes from the book of James about being a "doer of the word, not just a hearer only." This will tie in the character traits of attentiveness and obedience.
9.I think these are my "Touchdown Topics" for week two...
Game of the Week-Dallas Cowboys versus San Francisco 49'ers
Team of the Week-Detroit Lions
Player of the Week-Tom Brady
Coach of the Week-Mike Tomlin
10.I think my prediction for this weeks Redskins' game is that they will win over the Cowboys 17-14. If they do they will be 3-0 on the year.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-SEPTEMBER 14, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from Brian Sipe. He said, "The only way to maximize potential for performance is to be calm in the mind."
2. I think the middle school volleyball team has played in 3 close matches. Even though this year's team lost several starters from last year, they are proving a difficult opponent for those in our league. Please go to www.ccsathletics.org for the schedule and scores.
3. I think that the games are early in that they start right after school, but it would be great for the school to show thier support with their attendance. Even if your child does not play, we value your cheering voice.
4. I think we were blessed in our chapel to have our local cub scout pack lead us in the pledges. This is a good time for families to consider scouting as a character building and service oriented program for their children. CFC sponsors a cub scout pack and a boy scout troop. If interested please contact Mrs. Donna Stuck at donnastuck@mac.com.
5. I think I am glad we do have middle school boys soccer this year. We have played one game agianst Fairfax Home School and we lost 8-0. The boys made me proud with thie hustle. I still have a few roster spots open if your child is interested.
6. I think the Character First empahsis is on the trait of "attentiveness." The faculty are on the lookout for the children who are demonstrating this quality. The definition we are using is that attentiveness is showing the worth of a person or a task by giving my undivided attention.
7. I think I want to thank you for purchasing the mission t-shirts. This serves as our best way to support the middle school mission trip. I will be giving details about this trip in several weeks. We will be working through Christian Fellowship Church. By the way, if you have not visited the local and global outreach webpage for the church, you should take the time (www.cfellowshipc.org). It will encourage you to see what God is doing through this ministry. Dustin Holliday, Mike Trivett and others are touching lives for Jesus!
8. I think I need to tell you that I am still in need of Upward soccer coaches and refs for our fall league. Experience is not needed as we will provide helpful training. However, you need to have Christ as your Savior and a heart that wants to please Him.
9. I think each week during the football season I will give you my "Touchdown Topics". This is for week one...
Game of the Week-Saints versus Packers
Team of the Week-Ravens
Player of the Week-Cam Newton
Coach of the Week-Jim Harbaugh
10. I think my prediction for this weeks Redskins' game is that they will win over the Cardinals 35-21. If they do they will be 2-0 on the year.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-AUGUST 31, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from our 38th President Gerald Ford. He said, "If it is a cliché to say athletics build character as well as muscle, then I subscribe to the cliché."
2. I think I need to know who is doing fall boys soccer and fall boys/girls cross country. Our coaches are hired and looking forward to the respected seasons. Their is a sign-up on my office door. It would be helpful if I had your name by the end of Thursday's school day.
3. I think I made a personal note of the importance of a good start while watching Olympic Champion Usain Bolt get disqualified for a false start. One must be attentive and act accordingly.
4. I think it has been great to see the students back on the campus. Please pray with us for a successful Spirit-filled school.
5. I think Thursday we will have our first Upward practice of the season. There is still a need for coaches and referees. If you are a parent within the school this can count for your volunteer hours. We have over 200 kids participating in the program.
6. I think I am looking forward to the opening day of Upward soccer games. The local cub scouts will be presenting the colors. A moment of silent remembrance will be given for the 9-1-1 victims and their families.
7. I think this year for their physical education class, the fourth through eighth grade will be dressing out. P.E uniforms can be ordered through my office for $20.00. This includes a shirt and a pair of shorts with the Catamount logo on it.
8. I think God is our everything in an earthquake, our hope in a hurricane, our truth in a tornado and our shelter in a storm.
9. I think I want to send out a special thank you to Charles Tull for helping me line the Upward soccer fields and filling in for middle school boys health. He has a true servant's heart. By the way he also went to Liberty University.
10. I think my name has not been mentioned in the Redskins' quarterback competition. The media is just talking about Grossman and Beck. Maybe I will surprise some people. I am looking forward to the final preseason game Thursday night. At this point, I think I would go with #12.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-AUGUST 3, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Bobby Dodd. He said, "Either love your players or get out of coaching."
2. I think I am pleased to announce the hiring of Sandra Cravens as our new middle school girls volleyball coach. She brings a Christlike testimony and a servant willingness to her position. She recently was the high school head coach of Northern Virginia Christian Academy. While at NVCA, she participated in the NVIAC. This experience will help her greatly. She is familiar with our school as her daughter (Hailey)is in the fifth grade and her husband (Will)is one of the pastors at CFC.
3. I think that our middle school girls volleyball pre-season practice schedule will go as follows:
Monday August 22 3:30-5:00pm
Tuesday August 23 3:30-5:00pm
Thursday August 25 3:30-5:00pm
4. I think if your are playing middle school girls volleyball or middle school boys soccer I need to know that as soon as possible. Please email me back with confirmation so I can see how the roster will look like. Once I know we will have enough boys, I will send out the practice schedule.
5. I think from a finance perspective, all athletic fees will be deducted from the parents FACTS account. This is a change for this year. Home School players will still pay by check or cash. The fee amount is the same as it has been at $150.00. If you have any questions, please let me know.
6. I think the school has bought a brand new bus and the Catamounts will be traveling in it and winning games this year. Thanks to Mrs. Barker and Mr. Stone for helping make this happen.
7. I think as a reminder, the athletic program is for 5th-8th grade students. It is a great opportunity for our young players to get game and practice time in. Plus, it gives our 8th graders a responsibility of mentoring and encouraging. Go Catamounts!
8. I think there is still room in our Upward fall soccer league. This is for 4yr old-6th grade. It is for boys and girls. Thursday night one hour practices and Saturday morning games.
9. I think the CFC All Star Men's basketball team traveled and played in an all night basketball tournament last weekend. They cam away with a 3-2 record and finished in the top 8. I am proud of the guys.
10. I think I asked Lorenzo Alexander how many different positions he has played for the Washington Redskins in his career and he told me 7. How about that for versatility and flexibility! My prayer is that I would have that same attitude when God tells me to do something new! By the way, Lorenzo is doing some amazing charitable work in our area. I will have more details to com one this later.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JULY 27, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from William Arthur Ward. He said, "adversity causes some men to break; others to break records."
2. I think I want to thank the volunteers who helped conduct the two Upward soccer evaluations the past two weeks. They endured the heat, encouraged the kids and exemplified a servant's heart. I could not have done it without them.
3. I think we have 173 kids registered for the upcoming fall season. I am praying and hoping we reach over 200 this year. You may still register online at www.countychristianschool.org The league is for 4yr olds to 6th grade and is for boys and girls. They will play in separate divisions.
4. I think I am in the interviewing process for our new middle school girls volleyball coach. Coach Roos will not be returning as he is dealing with family sickness and situations. Please pray for him and his wife.
5. I think the Character First material has been ordered and I am looking forward to the school-wide emphasis this year. The trait for September is attentiveness. I believe that is appropriate to start the classes off with.
6. I think that I am praying every teacher has opportunity in their classes to have intentional Bible integration. I am so thankful that God gave us His Word and that it is real, relevant and reliable! Can I get an Amen?
7. I think in the past several weeks, death has hit close to me. Although there have been tears and sorrow, I know that his truth and scripture have promises for me to stand on and share with others.
8. I think this Friday, a collection of all stars from the CFC men's league will be competing in a tournament at SVCA. I am looking forward to us representing our church and reflecting Christ to those we play against. Aaron "Serious" Simmons has taken the lead on this and is doing a great job for us organizing and recruiting the players. It is an all night tournament and should be very exciting. Any fans that want to come please come to Stephens City. The games start at 7:15pm.
9. I think the Sun, sand and surf is calling my name.
10. I think the NFL lockout is over and training camp is starting. The new season brings an unblemished record until the games begin. I am working on my prediction for the season which I will post next week. As of this writing, we have signed 14 wide receivers and have just traded McNabb. Maybe I could be another receiver on the roster or with my versatility throw to them.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JULY 13, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Rod Carew. He said, "Do you believe you're a starter or a benchwarmer? Do you believe you're an all-star or an also-ran?If the answers to these questions are the latter, your play on the field will reflect it. But when you've learned to shut off outside influences and believe in yourself, there's no telling how good a player you can be. That's because you have the mental edge."
2. I think I am enjoying re-reading the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell. For me to be a better leader, I must make sure I am listening and learning every day. Intentional improvement is better than thinking growth will just happen.
3. I think I have finished the design of the upcoming mission t-shirts for the coming school year. I am hoping the students and faculty will be pleased with them. I am glad we will be able to use these shirts to bring in money for our middle school short term mission trip again.
4. I think I would like for you to pray for the completing of our coaching staff. I am in the process of looking for and hiring a girls middle school volleyball coach. If you can help point me to someone or you are interested please email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
5. I think I am pleased to report that we had 68 campers for our Court Vision Basketball Camp. We have hosted this camp for 6 years now and it gets better and better. We will be doing it again next year God willing.
6. I think I was scanning the channels and came across the movie Hoosiers. Just so you know that it is my all-time favorite. I wish my jump shot was as good as Jimmy Chitwood's.
7. I think Upward Soccer registration is going on now. We will have divisions for 4 year olds to 6th grade. There is still room so please get in your forms now. We will have evaluations tomorrow night from 6:00 to 7:30pm. The cost for the league is $85.00 per child. For more information please go to www.countychristianschool.org and click on the Upward tab.
8. I think I am excited that the United States women's soccer team has advanced to the World Cup finals. I am hoping they bring the title back from Germany on Sunday. If you ever want to see clutch play, all you have to do is watch Abby Wambach! She has a will to win.
9. I think that the Nationals can make some news in the second half if their bats are "Werth" anything. With the lack of hitting, they are still at .500.
10. I think I am still on the look out for the lock out to be over. I cannot wait to see what we do in free agency. I want the Redskins know that I am still available for consultation anytime.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JUNE 22, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Harvey Pennick. He said "I learn teaching from teachers. I learn golf from golfers. I learn winning from coaches."
2. I think I am wondering how many people knew I did not write on my blog for two weeks?
3. I think we are in the midst of the Court vision basketball camp here at the school. We have a record high of 68 players participating this year. I am thankful for the help that Simon and Victor Martinez give to the athletic department each year. They bring quality basketball players with them each time with servant's hearts.
4. I think I need to hire a middle school girls volleyball coach and a co-ed cross country coach for next year. If you are interested or would like to recommend someone to me, please email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
5. I think on the personal side of things, I would like for you to lift me up in prayer. This past month I was nominated and elected the President of the Northern Virginia Independent Athletic Conference. I need God's guidance and grace as I serve in this position. May what we do in our league meetings, games and tournaments bring ultimate glory to Him.
6. I think this past weekend was Father's day. I am joyful and thankful that my Dad is a fantastic friend, empowering encourager, caring counselor and loving leader. To this day he pushes me to push myself and press on.
7. I think the NBA Finals were proof that you can be under 6 foot tall and make a huge difference in a basketball game. J.J. Barea once inserted in the starting lineup had incredible impact. It makes me think what would have happened if I ever got into the starting lineup more.
8. I think I am enjoying playing basketball on Friday mornings with some Catamount graduates and some Upward coaches. We start at 7a.m. and go to 8a.m. We are always looking for fun and fellowship, so if you would like to join us feel free. By the way, if you see my jump shot it has been missing for several years. When found please return it to me as soon as possible.
9. I think registration for Upward soccer for the fall 2011 season is available at www.countychristianschool.org. The practices start in August and games start in September.
10. I think all three Redskin quarterbacks are making headlines. I sure would like some good news to come about the lockout so we can see which one makes touchdown passes!

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-JUNE 1, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week is from Will Rogers. He said, "I guess there is nothing that will get your mind off everything like golf. I have never been depressed enough to take up the game, but they say you get so sore at yourself you forget to hate your enemies."
2. I think there is still room in the Court Vision Basketball Camp. The camp is Christ centered and holds to the same values of Upward basketball. Please go to www.ccsathletics.org for more information. It is open for 1st-8th graders. The good news is that it is a local camp, inexpensive and coordinated by fine Christian young men.
3. I think I am in the hiring process for our coaches for next year. We will have opening for middle schoolgirls volleyball and middle school girls cheer leading. Please email me any referrals or resumes you can at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
4. I think this weekend we will finish Upward Flag Football and start registering for the Upward fall soccer season. I want to thank my league director, Chris Gunderson, for his leadership in making the first season of football a success. It is one of those times of seeing a dream become a reality.
5. I think out special speaker for the Upward Award Ceremony on Saturday is Matt Fore. He will be a blessing to our teams. He is with Sure Fire Entertainment and will provide illusions and comedy. I am most excited for him to share the gospel and am praying we see children come to Christ.
6. I think I enjoyed sharing my heart and vision for the middle school last night at orientation. I hope we will continually remember the motto for the Catamounts. It is "do all you can, with what you have, where you are, for the glory of God."
7. I think if your child was not at the award banquet, their certificates and trophies (if applicable) are available in my office.
8. I think every year the athletic department accumulates a large lost and found. What we have this year is on tables in the weight room. The weight room is located beside the gym. Please take a look to see if there is any of your child's stuff. What is not claimed will be donated to the mission field.
9. I think I want to go on record saying that it was easier for me to root for Lebron James when he was in Cleveland. I wish he would have stayed there and continued his career. With that said, I am for the Dallas Mavaricks in the final.
10. I think I like hearing that the Redskins are having practices and working on their game. I am thankful for the dedication of London Fletcher and Lorenzo Alexander. They are Christian men and do a lot for our local community.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-MAY 25, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think I want to thank everyone that came to the annual athletic award banquet. "THE CATSPYS" was a successful time of food, fun and fellowship. If you missed the evening, we had special music by Liberty University student Joy Lippard. We were blessed by her ministry. You can learn and listen to more of her at www.joylippard.com. Joy also use to come here to our school!
2. I think it was so good to have Jonathan Geukgeuzian as our motivational speaker. Any comments that he said about me are to be taken with grace and laughter. I am so proud of him for serving the Lord and training up future workers for the kingdom of God. I still think I could beat him in a 3 point contest though.
3. I think the sport pictures that were used to decorate for the banquet can be ordered through sdinelli@countychristianschool.org. There are some amazing and awesome photos of our players that will make good memory makers.
4. I think our spring sport team/individual pictures will be taken tomorrow at 2:00pm. We finally get to have our girls soccer and boys flag football team get these done. After pictures, I will collect their uniforms and they will sign them in. Please check our sport's website for the updated records of all the 2010-11 teams.
5. I think I want to remind you of our school store. This is a good way for you to purchase quality blue and gold clothing that helps promote the Catamounts in the community. We now have a school shirt in the local Fudruckers representing CCS!. Please go to www.ccsathletics.org for more information.
6. I think registration is now open for our Court Vision Basketball Camp. The dates are June 20th-24th. The fee is $125.00. This is a Christian based camp and holds the same principles and philosophies as our Upward Sports Program. We have hosted this camp for several years now and it seems to be a real blessing to the kids who come.
7. I think our 4th and 5th grade students helped CFC's local outreach ministry by getting school backpack ready for Rolling Ridge Elementary School. I appreciate the good partnership we have with Mr. Trivett in making a difference.
8. I think for our weekly chapel today, we had the privilege of having the Gideons International come and distribute New Testaments. I wish they were allowed to go into our local public schools but they are not. We challenged them to help spread and share it. I am praying that the Word of God that was given out today will find it's way to a person who has never had one of his/her own. Yes, they exist in Loudoun County Virginia. The Gideons are precious to my heart as my dad served in the local Sterling Camp.
9. I think there are no Upward Flag Football games this weekend due to the Memorial Day Weekend. I hope it is a time of refreshing, relaxing and renewing for all of our families.
10. I think I really want Redskins' football to start. I was reminded of the tragedy of Sean Taylor this week as I saw a jersey of his. We must understand we cannot predict the end of the world nor when our life will come to an end. Let us aspire to inspire before we expire.

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-MAY 18, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Mike Singletary. He said, "Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play."
2. I think the two trophies for the NVIAC Godly Character Award are on display in the foyer of 600. I am so proud of the teams for their representation of our Savior and our School.
3. I think I love it when the preschool classes walk by my door and yell "Go Catamounts!" It encourages me to keep working, keep going, keep planning so that when they are eligible to play we will have a program of excellence for them.
4. I think a special thank you to Esther Schaeffer, Dustin Holliday, Ben Cooper and Kore Bendix for serving on the panel during the Career Chapel. I appreciate the words and wisdom they had to share to our students. We are able to learn things from our own experiences but we can also learn from the experience of others.
5. I think I am working on a makeup game for the middle school girls soccer team against TMV. I really would like to play this game for our 8th graders and have them play one more home game. Please keep checking your email or the sport schedule at www.ccsathletics.org.
6. I think we have had a time with team pictures this year. I apologize for the confusion and the cancellations. I am working with Blanton Studios on a rescheduled time. I will let you know as soon as I do.
7. I think one of my favorite nights of the year is this Friday night. You are invited to join me at the "CATSPYS" at 7:00pm. This is our annual athletic banquet and will be in room 123. This is a time for the Blue and Gold to come together and celebrate what happened this year on the court and on the field. Dinner will be served, awards handed out and a slide show of the year will be presented. During the evening together, I will announce who made NVIAC All League in each sport.
8. I think I would like for the boys to be in ties and the girls to be in dresses for the banquet. Please help me in making this happen. I think it is one of the night's of the school year where we can go semi-formal.
9. I think it would be a nice touch for the teams to show their thoughtfulness to their coach with a small gift. Please know i am writing this as the athletic director not the soccer coach. Our coaches did an amazing job this year and I am proud of each one.
10. I think the NFL lockout is still going on. The talk around Washington DC is that John Beck will be the starting quarterback if the season is played. Where are the days of Baugh, Jurgensen, Kilmer and Theismann?

10. I think the NFL lockout is still going on. The talk around Washington DC is that John Beck will be the starting quarterback if the season is played. Where are the days of Baugh, Jurgensen, Kilmer and Theismann?

THE TOP TEN THINGS I AM THINKING ON-MAY 11, 2011
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." Phil. 4:8
1. I think my quote of the week comes from Seve Ballesteros. For those of you who follow sports, you know that he recently died. He left us with a lot of golfing memories. He said, "To give yourself the best possible chance of playing to your potential, you must prepare for every eventuality. That means practice."
2. I think I am so proud of the middle school boys flag football team and the middle school girls soccer team for winning the NVIAC Godly Character trophy. This means more to me than a championship and represents the special students we have in our athletic program. This recognition is voted on by the coaches and athletic directors that we played against. I love how we can be Christlike in the midst of competition.
3. I think our middle school boys flag football team finished with a record of 3-5. They finished third in the regular season and in the tournament. Way to go Coach Sizemore ad team!
4. I think our middle school girls soccer team finished their regular season NVIAC play with a record of 3-4-1. They finished 5th in the league and lost to Hearts Home School in the first round of the tournament 2-1.
5. I think the soccer season is still going and has one more important game on May 17 at 4:30pm. This will be our 8th graders last home game. We host Trinity Meadowview. There will be a special recognition for parents and our graduates at halftime. Please plan to come and cheer!
6. I think I always get excited for the annual athletic banquet. It will be May 20 at 7pm. We will meet in room 123 for a time of food, fellowship and fun. Certificates and awards will be given out. If you would like to help with this event, please email me at tpangle@countychristianschool.org.
7. I think I am in need of sports photographs from throughout the year. This will help us for the end of the year slide show and the decorations. Please either email them to me or drop them by my office no later than this Friday.
8. I think we will have spring sport pictures on May 17th at 2:00pm. Your child will be bringing home an order form today. Please make sure they come prepared.
9. I think we will have our "Court Vision Basketball Camp" this summer. For more information go to www.ccsathletics.org.
10. I think Mrs. Skinner is taking all the credit for this year's Redskin top draft pick. His name is Ryan Kerrigan and went to Purdue. For those of you who do not know Mrs. Skinner went there and majored in Shopology. She has her Master degree from Dulles Town Center.
